Loose Guts

December Volunteering

Hello everyone.  I know the “holiday season” is now upon us and some people think this when you put your bike indoors.  The rest of us are bundling up for the coming winter and riding right through it.  In doors at Back Alley Bikes we usually see less volunteers during the winter, but a good number of us keep working right through it.  We want you to join us.

I wanted to let you all know about some volunteer opportunities coming up next week that we would love to have you around for.  On Wednesday, December 2nd and Thursday, December 3rd we will be meeting upstairs in the Back Alley Bikes area from 5pm-6pm discussing how we could possibly change or improve the floor plan in the Back Alley Bikes area.  We want to make the space cleaner and more functional for everyone that uses it.  So if you have goals or ideas please come share them!

Then on both days from 6pm-8pm we will have our regular volunteer time to prepare for our scrap metal workday!  On Saturday, December 5th we will be working from 10am-4pm organizing and removing old metal scrap parts and bikes that aren’t usable.  We need as many people as we can get to help organize and move metal scrap even if you can only stay and help for a little while!

The rest of December will be devoted to working on kids bikes for the Holiday Bike Giveaway and then general clean-up after the program is over.

I hope to see you all upstairs this December and all winter long.
