So as the year ends, the Back Alley Bikes office is gonna be empty most days as we take a break. But I wanted to leave you with this one last web update for the year. There isn’t much time left, but if you would like to take a wheel-building class we are offering one in January.
Here is how it works:
What: Wheel-building class. Learn wheel, spoke and hub sizing. Lace wheels, truing and spoke tensioning. Also, at the end of the class you walk away with a new wheel-set!
When: There are four classes all on Fridays – Jan 4th 5-6pm, Jan 11th 5-8pm, Jan 18th 5-8pm and Jan 25th 5-8pm
Where: In the Back Alley Bikes educational workshop
Who: The manager of our retail shop, Darrin will be teaching all of those that wish to learn how to build wheels.
How: There will be a $150 fee for the class. This covers the cost of materials and the teaching time for the class. Please register in advance as this will be a small sized class. You can register at The Hub of Detroit retail shop before (or on) January 4th.
If you have any additional questions please email darrin (at) thehubofdetroit.org or heather (at) thehubofdetroit.org
Sound cool? I think so. $150 isn’t too bad for a bunch of knowledge AND a wheel set. Pretty cool.
