Noel Night Recap (w/ photos from the photo booth!)

Hello Everyone, Wow, the end of the year is upon us and my mind is spinning. I won’t give you the full run down of everything yet – I’ll write an end up the year update at the end of the month, but we were at our busiest this year! I know I say that every year, but in October when our youth programs traditionally slow down we increased them. Not only did we start a new program, but we also saw a 185% increase in the number of youth coming to our Saturday program. When things usually slow...

Bike of the Now: Pretty & Powerful

Huffy Savannah Comfort Touring, dark salmon*, 18” step-through frame, 10 speed, Shimano Tourney derailleurs, 26” mountain bike tires, kickstand, pinstriped fenders, exceptionally comfy seat, side pull brakes. $150 At first glance this bike might appear to be one of those faux-retro nostalgia deals that look better than they ride. Because this is an all-weather bike, suitable for the upcoming months when Amaterasu the Sun Goddess...

They are trying to get folks to contact their representatives so the Department of Transportation will prioritize the safety of pedestrians and cyclists....

Bon Voyage to Darrin Brouhard

Today is the day. D Lloyd, D Brou, Darrin, Brou Hard or Brou Home…It is Darrin Brouhard’s last day working at The Hub of Detroit. Darrin managed The Hub of Detroit for the past few years. In his time here he has put his hands on so many bikes. If you have gotten your bike fixed at the Hub of Detroit between 2010 and today…Darrin has probably touched your bike. Maybe has built your bike, built you a new wheel set, put that rack on it, or just brought it back from death somehow. Darrin used to teach the...
