Again, this position is NOT a job at the Hub. It is a program that will take place in the Osborn Neighborhood near Outer Drive and Connor.

Two Earn-a-bike Instructor/Coordinator positions
We need to two part-time instructors for a 5-week youth earn-a-bike program based in Detroit’s
Osborn neighborhood. Instructors will receive training on how to run the program from the Hub of Detroit.
This job includes but is not limited to:
• Preparing a work area for the youth to build bicycles
• Work with the Hub of Detroit to order parts and tools as needed
• Maintain this area throughout the program
• Work with students to create Earn a bike T-shirts
• Receive earn a bike training from the Hub of Detroit
• Teach youth on how to repair and maintain bicycles
• Teach youth on safe riding principles
• Lead youth with various community service projects
• Lead youth on group rides
• Work with DECC, the Rails-to-Trail Conservancy, IMPACT, and The Hub of Detroit to document this program through photos and interviews.
Bike repair experience is helpful, but not necessary; training is provided. This is a great opportunity to be a mentor to youth and help them with hands-on learning while you learn more about bike repair yourself
Applicants must undergo a background check through the Michigan State Police.
The program is for 5 weeks, Mondays through Fridays, during the mornings along with one Saturday.
20 hours per week x 5 weeks = 100 hours
Compensation: $1,500
